Bernalyn was born a normal, beautiful Aeta baby girl. Born as the only girl in the family, everyone doted after her. But when tragedy struck their family, Bernalyn or Berna as we fondly call her was the one most adversely affected. Her parents, Bernido and Juliet separated and Juliet suffered from depression. Because of that, she neglected her children and failed to give them appropriate attention. Berna and her brothers ended up roaming around the village and begging for food. This caused Berna to be very sickly and malnourished.

Praise God because one day, a concerned pastor from our ministry reported their situation to the ACH administration and the Lord made a way to help Juliet and her kids. Juliet, together with her kids were moved to the Aeta Children’s Home. They were taken care of and the ministry attended to their needs. Bernalyn during that time was severely malnourished. She, 2 years old then, was skinny, very weak and sickly. ACH addressed these concerns by continuously giving her nutritious foods, vitamins, care and attention, enough rest and sleep and lots of prayers. Praise the Lord because little by little, Berna began to overcome malnutrition.  

Today, Berna is a picture of health and happiness. She is now 4 years old and enjoys doing what little girls do. She loves to run around, make new friends, hug everyone, laugh, and giggle. Looking at the drastic changes she went through, it is indeed a miracle and we thank God everyday when we see Berna. Praise God!
